Dem Disarray: BLM Drops a Bomb in New York While Pelosi Scrambles in Washington

Note: Certain words have been altered with an asterisk to minimize social media censorship.

For those of you paying close attention, you may have noticed that BLM took a very strong stance against the CoVid mandates in New York over the weekend. Of course, if you weren’t paying close attention, you likely missed it because it was barely mentioned by mainstream, left-wing media outlets. I reckon this is the first time since the inception of the BLM movement that mainstream media has downplayed BLM’s opinion on a new issue. It’s not an oversight.

On Sunday (Sept 26), Fox News reported that Chivona Newsome, co-founder of BLM’s New York Chapter, spoke out against the v*ccine mandates implemented by both the New York State and City governments.

Fox News Channel: “YOU ARE REPLACEABLE.” Democrat Kathy Hochul says she will refuse to budge on a coronavirus vaccine mandate for nurses. Sarah Klein of the University of Rochester Medical Center with reaction.

Newsome claimed, “Although Mayor Bill De Blasio ran on progressives values, nothing in his tenure will attest to his campaign promises… The September 13th vaccine mandate is racist and specifically targets Black New Yorkers. The vaccination passports are modern-day Freedom Papers, which limit the free will of Black people.” She went on to state, “social distancing and mask requirements resulted in Black New Yorkers being brutalized and arrested while their White neighbors received masks and refreshments… The vaccination mandates infringe upon the civil liberties of the Black community… It’s more than where we can dine or enjoy entertainment, it will result in loss of income. As of Monday, September 27, Black health care workers and educators will lose their jobs.” Newsome concluded:

“It is the duty of Black Lives Matter Greater NY to fight for the liberty of Black people… The vaccination passport will not be a free pass to racism. Our organization pledges to demonstrate until the vaccine mandate is abolished.

This places the Democrat political machine in a very awkward position. On the one hand, caving-in to the demands of BLM will only serve to highlight the fact that the v*ccine mandates are driven more by political pressure than they are by public health interests and “science.” On the other hand, if they rebuke the demands of BLM, they are tacitly admitting that just because a given policy results in racially disparate outcomes, that policy, and the system from which it was promulgated, is not ipso facto “racist.” Either admission would be sacrilegious to neo-liberal dogma. So which path will be chosen as the lesser of two evils? Well, that may depend on what happens in Washington this week.

On September 26, this past Sunday, House Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced she would delay the vote on the “bipartisan” infrastructure bill, after committing to moderate Democrats in August that the vote would take place by Monday, September 27. The new date is set for Thursday, September 30, and may need to be delayed further as she is having quite a difficult time whipping the necessary votes. Moderate Dems with red constituencies, like Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Rep. Joe Manchin (D-WV), are holding the line against the $3.5 Trillion spending bill while the party’s radical members refuse to compromise on a lesser absurd $1.5 Trillion version of the bill.

In staring down the political Goliath of Donald Trump, the establishment DNC chose to ride the wave of BLM, Antifa, and far-left progressive momentum into the 2020 election cycle, and in doing so, made a deal with the devil. Now that they have regained power – by the slimmest of margins – it’s time to pay the piper. The BLM anti-mandate situation in New York and the spending bill situation in Washington are both byproducts of the rising tension between these two factions. While no one can be certain how this all shakes out, we can be sure that the next week or so will have a tremendous impact on the immediate future of the Democrat party and the American progressive movement.

Given the gravity of the situation, those on the right should be watching with bated breath and take any opportunity to pour fuel onto this developing fire. If the right can remain relatively united, a Covid-weary American public and disintegrated Democrat party should make the 2022 midterms and 2024 general election a cakewalk.
